The mission of folk music and Shabbat are much the same: Tikkun Olam, cultivating compassion, caring for humanity, promoting peace and acts of loving kindness – it is a natural fit for some of the most beloved folk songs of this iconic folk trio and other ’60s groups to be a part of a creative Shabbat service.
Long Island folk-rock trio Gathering Time (featuring TBE alumnus Stuart Markus), working with the Rabbis, will match up folk songs from the ’60s with prayers of similar themes, for a unique and compelling spiritual experience!
